"Seasons" Seasons remind us of the the consistent and inevitable word so many of us share an unfavorable connotation with: change. The anticipation of patiently waiting for the white snow on the ground to uncover the palette of the earth in full bloom seems to take forever. Maybe I had been living in the sunshine state too long, but living in the north again, I am reminded of what it feels like to wait for change. There’s beauty in the contrast of each season, with each one reflecting a faithful promise to come. We know roughly when to start digging our summer clothes out of storage or when to finally plan that ski trip, yet each year we warily wait impatiently for the next season to come, as our discontent for the current season grows. We look outside to see if the barren tree in our front yard has started to signal for spring, when a few months later, we study that same tree to seek out any hints of orange hues that resemble the start of fall. Photoshopping My Face This assignment was super easy and also really fun. I figured I would go a little crazy and try to make myself look like a mermaid. By just adding colors on different layers and changing the transparency, it is so easy to alter my skin and hair color, all while making it look somewhat realistic. Photoshop is dope.
DIGITAL MEDIA: DAY #1 First Impression As I opened the classroom door and started to the back row, I was quickly advised by my new professor that sitting in the back would, "statistically cause me an easy C or D in the class." Yeah... probably a good idea. Fair enough, I thought, as I found my seat in the front row, in front of a large desktop that would block my view of the professor. After reviewing the syllabus, I was able to get a bit of a better understanding of what the course would bring and how I would benefit from taking it. "Cool. Challenging, but a little boring, perhaps,"I thought. But then Professor Echeverry revealed his talents and a look inside his personal life a bit more as he showed us his personal work and film.
